HBCUvc is a not-for-profit organization with a mission to increase the racial and ethnic diversity in venture capital. By creating more Black and Latinx venture capitalists and fund managers, we will increase the pool of funding available for entrepreneurs of color, and ultimately create job and wealth opportunities for communities of color.
Opportunities for Engagement
Students at HBCUs and HSIs
HBCUvc offers a venture capital fellowship for students attending historically black colleges and universities (HBCUs) and Hispanic-serving institutions (HSIs). During the program, Fellows participate in skill training workshops, receive specialized mentorship, and network with leading venture capitalists. Fellows obtain venture capital work experience through HBCUvc’s Venture Capital Clinic — a teaching venture capital firm, and are charged with creating projects to fuel high-growth entrepreneurship on their campuses. This first-of-its-kind program allows students to gain experience that jumpstarts their careers.
VC Firms Seeking Talent
Partner with us to increase racial diversity in technology and venture capital. HBCUvc is proud of its partnerships with venture firms and professionals who align with our strategic priorities. Opportunities to partner include corporate underwriting for events and the costs of travel for Fellows. Joining as a corporate partner is a powerful way to demonstrate your organization’s commitment to diversity and inclusion and attract pre-vetted and qualified talent.
VCs, Entrepreneurs, and Tech Professionals
Join our volunteer network of mentors and guest faculty. The opportunity to connect with leading venture capitalists, entrepreneurs, and technology professionals first hand is one that only enhances a student’s enthusiasm for learning and building their network. Our guest faculty are professionals who are able to share their expertise with our students in an interactive lecture format.
